2025 Summer Transfer Window: Big Five Leagues in Flux

The 2025 summer market  shattered records especially in England while continental clubs followed widely differing strategies. The Premier League blew past the £3 billion mark, with top teams making marquee signings, whereas La Liga’s giants (hampered by Financial Fair Play) invested selectively. Serie A saw several heavy hitters raid markets (AC Milan, Juventus, Napoli) but also cash in on stars, leaving many clubs in net profit. In Germany, Bayern Munich made one blockbuster move (Luis Díaz), and most Bundesliga teams spent conservatively. Ligue 1 again served as a feeder league: aside from PSG, most French clubs focused on selling talent and balancing the books. Across all leagues, spending patterns reflected each environment from England’s unchecked spree to France’s export-driven model setting the stage for an unpredictable 2025/26 season. You are a Xenophobe – EX-BBA contestant attacks AKA over comments on Bafana Bafana’s defeat

Ex-BBA housemate, Akintayo Faniran has blasted South African musician, Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, alias AKA, over his comments on Bafana Bafana defeat at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, quarter-final match played on Wednesday.

DAILYPOST recalls that AKA reacted to Nigeria’s 2-1 victory over Bafana Bafana
AKA, who was angry over the outcome, took to his Twitter account to express sadness over South Africa’s defeat to the three-time African champion, asking why his country always lost against Nigeria at everything.

He said that he would have preferred the Bafana Bafana losing their previous matches to avoid facing Nigeria.
“I’m hurt man.
”This match was bigger than football.
“The biggest rivalry on the continent.
”Why do we always have to lose against Naija at everything.
”It is a hard pill to swallow man. We keep on losing to Nigeria in every way.
”We should have just lost to Egypt, rather than Nigeria.”
Reacting, Taya Faniran blasted the rapper, calling him a xenophobe and a low life.
“These are highly xenophobic statements, pure display of illiteracy, spoken like a low life from the corner, definitely not an African role model.
“I’m disappointed in you AKA,we are preaching peace and all you do is to spit out this dirty nonsense? …
“You see when I mentioned that deep down many of these African stars that we support with our money and minds actually hate us foreigners.
“I wish all your Nigerian fans can see this,” he wrote on instagram.
Akintayo Faniran, a former Big Brother Africa 2014 contestant, emerged as the first runner up, making Nigerians proud.
