Airtel lists 3.7 billion shares on the Nigerian Stock Exchange

A irtel Africa Plc has listed 3,758,151,504 ordinary shares on the main board of the Nigerian Stock Exchange . The NSE said the shares were listed at an offer price of N363 per ordinary share. It added that the listing of the company’s shares added N1.36tn to the total market capitalisation of the Exchange, further deepening the market. “It will also increase the visibility of Airtel Africa to investors on the continent and across the globe,” the NSE said in a statement. The Chief Executive Officer, Airtel Africa, Mr Raghunath Mandava, said the company was delighted to be listed on the main board of the Exchange.

Airtel signs N50bn loan agreement with banks

Airtel Nigeria has signed a five-year loan agreement with a number of Nigerian banks. The telecommunication company, which is set to list its shares on the Nigerian Stock Exchange by July 4 and its African unit on the London Stock Exchange, disclosed this in its offer prospectus. It added that the loan agreement signed on June 17, 2019, the banks would allow it to make a repayment in five years and that they offered the company a two-year moratorium. “Airtel Nigeria entered into a bank facility agreement for an amount of N50bn, which is available for a period of 180 days from the acceptance of the offer and has a tenure of five years inclusive of a twenty-four-month moratorium on the principal amount,” it said. While the purpose of the facility was not stated, the Group described the telecom industry as a capital-intensive one that required substantial amounts of capital and other long-term expenditures. 42-year-old man was killed over land in Akwa Ibom

A 42-year-old man, identified as Edidiong Joseph Effiong was, on Wednesday, murdered in cold blood over a lingering land dispute between two families in Ibiaku Itam in Itu local government area of Akwa Ibom State.   DAILY POST gathered that the deceased was severally cut around his neck region by his suspected assailant, Ambrose Bassey Jeremiah, before he gave up the ghost.
